X-Ray

Digital X-rays are commonly used to visualize the chest, airways, spine and bones. This is a form of X-ray imaging where digital X-ray sensors are utilized. Advantages include time efficiency and the ability to digitally transfer images.

No appointment is necessary for an X-ray with Ontario Imaging Center. Simply walk-in to your local practice with your referral. During Covid lockdown periods, Ontario Imaging Center prefers all patients ring the practice prior to arrival for initial screening.

DIGITAL X-RAY:

A Digital X-Ray, also known as radiography, is an easy, non-invasive, and painless procedure. Digital X-Rays are the oldest and most commonly used form of medical imaging. While a small portion of your body is exposed to low-dose radiation in order to provide our radiologist with the diagnostic information, you need not fear any long-term after-effects.

Preparation:

Please bring your referral with any previous imaging relating to the region being scanned. You may be required to remove jewellery and clothing that contain zips or metal objects, as these items can interfere with the X-ray quality.

What happens during the procedure:

It will depend on what area you are having X-rayed for an exact description of the procedure. However, generally;

You may be asked to change into a gown. Depending on which area you are having examined, you may be asked to lie on a table, stand or sit.

It is very important you remain still while your X-ray is taken.

After your examination:

There are no restrictions after having a Digital X-ray.
